The Thorichthys Ellioti is a beautiful and peaceful fish. They require plenty of space and a soft and sandy substrate .They can suffer from stress if surrounded by boisterous tank mates so are often best housed with other placid Cichlids with a similar temperament. 

Adult Length: 15cm

Temperature Range: 25 - 28°C

pH Range: 7.5-8.0

Special Requirements: Water quality must be perfect, as high nitrate can lead to health problems. They prefer slightly alkaline condidtions. 

Tanks Mates: They are best kept with other placid Cichlids like Acaras. They can also be kept with some smaller live bearers such as Swordtails. Corydoras should be avoided when Thorichthys are spawning.  

Feeding: . It is predominantly a carnivore so feed should be of good quality and high in protein. They enjoy frozen and live food along with quality cichlid pellets.
