The Angelfish, in all of its colour variants, is one of the most popular aquarium fish. It is ideally suited to larger, well planted aquariums. They are voracious eaters and will interact with their keeper to encourage feeding.  Although they are generally fairly peaceful, they can become territorial, especially during breeding time.

Community with caution – Can be fin nippers

Species – Koi Angel - Pterophyllum Scalare

Current Size – 7cm – 10cm

Adult Length – 15cm

Temperature Range – 23 - 29°C

pH Range – 6.0 - 7.5

Special Requirements – They prefer a taller tank, due to their body shape.

Tanks Mates and Compatibility - Generally a peaceful cichlid but may squabble with its own kind, so best kept in small groups. Good community fish but may eat small fish such as tetras.

Feeding - They are not fussy feeders at all and will take any quality food offered. Care should be taken to make sure other fish in the tank get their fair share.

We recommend:

Please note – Some images used are library photos and will show the colour potential at a fully mature size, as our fish are juvenilles they may vary.

We always aim to supply the fish as close to the purchase size as possible. However if this is not possible, we will always contact you to discuss.

The fish are selected at random however you are welcome to make a note on the order and the fish manager will do his best for you. This is dependent on current stock at the time of your order.
