The Glass Catfish is a delicate fish that is susceptible to fluctuations in water chemistry. It should only be introduced to stable mature aquariums with low nitrate. It is peaceful and timid and should only be kept in a quiet and peaceful community setup. They do best in well planted aquariums with dimmed lighting. They prefer to be kept in schools of 6 or more.
Species – Glass Catfish - Kryptopterus Minor
Current Size – 4cm - 5cm
Adult Length – 8cm
Temperature Range – 21 - 26°C
pH Range – 6.0– 7.5
Special Requirements: If they start to whiten, this is a sign of stress. The tank conditions do not suit them and they will die.
Tanks Mates and Compatibility – They are a good community fish as they are peaceful and tank mates should be on a similar temperament
Feeding – It can be difficult to get them to eat dried or flake food. Putting it into the flow can help them be attracted to it. Supplementing with frozen or live food will also help.
