The Otocinclus is a great addition to the planted peaceful community tank and a school of them can make a great addition to the clean up crew! They can be quite shy at times and do need plenty of hiding places. They will also not do well with aggressive tank mates.

Species – Dwarf Sucker – Otocinclus Affinis

Current Size – 2.5cm

Adult Length – 5cm

Temperature Range – 21 - 26°C

pH Range – 6.0 – 7.8

Special Requirements – The Dwarf Sucker catfish can be intolerant of nitrate so it is important to keep on top of your water changes.

Tanks Mates and Compatibility – This cat fish is very small and very placcid. It is often kept with shrimps as well as in small community situations. Aggressive tank mates should be avoided but, for some reason, they can be great tank mates for the otherwise aggressive dwarf puffer.

Feeding – Primarily herbivores, their diet of algae should be supplemented with vegetable matter as well as algae wafers.

Lovely little fish and they normally like to hide but these guys have been out sucking the glass and gravel within a few hours of being in the tank so shows how much care goes into packing the fish for minimal stress
