Just like the Swordtail, this is an excellent tropical fish for the beginner and the community tank. They are peaceful, hardy and colourful. Couple this with the fact that they are prolific live bearers and what is there not to like! They have been one of the most popular tropical aquarium fish for the last 50 years for a reason.
The platy is a fairly small but active fish that does well when kept in groups with others of the same species and with other small community fish.

Tanks Mates and Compatibility – Very peaceful and can be kept with most community species. They exhibit none of the aggression of some swordtails and mollies, and even males tolerate one another.
